Leadership philosophies are easy to write and hard to live. Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi’s approach places emphasis on people, professionalism, innovation, teamwork and creating environments in which capable people can perform. His personal motto is Integrity, Accountability and Equity.
Building systems that serve people
At NITDA, he took part in planning and executing the agency’s seven strategic goals:
- IT regulation
- Capacity building
- Local content development
- Government digital services
- Digital job creation
- Digital inclusion
- Cyber security
His public engagements over the years ranged from National Data Privacy Week to the National Adopted Village for Smart Agriculture initiative in Gombe State, and meetings with universities, regulators and industry leaders.

How KIAF applies these principles
The Foundation carries the same principles into its own work through a simple approach:
- Understand: listen to communities and identify the problem
- Design: develop a practical response
- Invest: put resources behind people and ideas with potential
- Deliver: work with capable partners to implement
- Measure: track outcomes, not just activities
- Learn: use evidence to improve future programmes
People first. Capability matters. Opportunity changes outcomes.
